SMiLE.dk biography
SMiLE.dkA Swedish pop duo consisting of Veronica and Cecilia from Sweden. Their mission is to entertain and create happiness with their catchy lyrics, upbeat sound, tender sensitive ballads, and of course the tracks are bound together by their beautiful voices!SMiLE.dk published theire first album Smile in Japan 1998. It received wide attention and several songs in this album were included in EMI Dancemania compilations. The first single "Butterfly", was eventually licensed by Konami in the first version of Dance Dance Revolution. Since then, Butterfly has become one of the most popular songs in Dance Dance Revolution's history. They celebrated their biggest success in Asia and have achieved superstar status through selling a whole amount of records. The group was awarded with a Gold record in Japan and as the "Best international girl group" in Hong Kong 1998!! Make Up Collection!The girls are back in the studio producing new music that fans are sure to love! Its a "greatest hits" album containing of several remade hits + some brand new tracks! Hits like Butterfly, Boys, Mr Wonderful, and Future Girls with new vocals by the girls and new produced music with a touch of 2011/12, mixed wonderfully together with new written tracks á la SMiLE.dk sound."We love the happiness and the catchy melodies in the SMiLE music, and if we feel like jumping up and start dancing to it then we know we're on the right track!"-Veronica & CecilaThe future has a lot in store for this duo, so stay tuned and KEEP SMILING!!! :)

Veronica Performing artist and singer/songwriter with roots in Jamtland (in the north of Sweden), living in wonderful Scania (in the south of Sweden).- For 15 years I have had the fortune to work professionally with different kinds of musical events. Mainly as songwriter and performing artist in SMiLE.dk, but also in other various projects for example; • singer in the EuroTechno-group "Look Twice" in 1995-97 (before SMiLE.dk was formed),• Guest singer in the Australian DJ-constellation / group "StylerockerZ" from 2008 to date.My above mentioned career aside, I have trained at Kulturama in Stockholm, where I studied Afro-American singing and music for one year, followed by employment with the famous Wallmans restaurant Golden Hits, in Stockholm, as well as enjoying an eight year long journey together with the Gospel choir "Gospel Glow" from Malmoe, Sweden.Already as a child I loved to sing and dance, not in the center of anyones attention, just for myself, you can say that I was really shy as a child. While growing up I felt more and more the strong and longing feeling to stand in front of an audience and sing, but my shyness took over. When I finally managed to perform (12 years old on my graduation), I became overwhelmed over the feeling that I had made it and the tears just started running. After that day my confidence grew stronger. Today I can lean back and proudly say that I have conquered my biggest fear, today I love being on stage and perform, to create music and to dance! My journey with SMiLE.dk started already 1997 with a few demos on Butterfly, Coconut and Boys. We later signed with EMI in Denmark and the rest is history. So from me to you - when you have doubts, listen to your inner voice, it will guide you. Take one day at a time, dont be afraid of living, join the journey and keep smiling! :-)With love, Veronica

CeciliaNew member of SMiLE.dk since 2010!She is a swedish singer from the south of Sweden with a lot of experiens from both beeing on stage and behind the camera as a model, singer, dancer and TV host. She has been participating in the swedish TV show "Popstars" were young talented singers were competing for a place in a pop group. Cecilia came in third place.Some people have a certain call in life, my call was simple. I´ve always felt that I was put on this earth to entertain. Growing up I was always the girl who wanted to be the center of attention, whether it was acting in a schoolplay or competing in dance as a child. Im born and raised in Sweden with a Nigerian father and a Swedish mother. People say that I´ve got the best out of two worlds!Ive always loved to dance and act, the singing part came later on into my life. After joining a Swedish Popstars competition, I came to wonder if maybe I should develop my voice further...So I did I´ve always wanted to be an entertainer of some kind.Performing on a stage is the most wonderful feeling next to love.
